You can place long-term and intraday orders on the Investmint app
Longterm orders (CNC):
- Long-term buy orders let you purchase stocks to hold them for durations longer than 1 day.
- Long-term sell orders on the other hand let you sell stocks in your holdings.
Intraday orders (MIS):
- Intraday buy orders let you take long positions on a stock. This means you will benefit if the stock price goes up through the day.
- Intraday sell orders let you take short positions on a stock. This means you will benefit if the stock price goes down through the day.
- Every intraday order has to be squared off by the end of the day. This means if you have taken a long position (placed a buy intraday order for a stock), you will have to sell stocks within the same day.
- If an intraday trade is not squared off manually, your broker will auto-square-off the trade for you. This generally comes with an additional cost per order. Hence, it is better to square off your intraday positions by yourself.
